 This piece is a visual meditation on the serene majesty of Diamond Waterfalls, located in Soufrière, Saint Lucia. Using oil pastels, I explore the ever-changing character of this natural wonder. Its mineral-rich waters shifting in color, its lush surroundings brimming with life and mystery.

My approach blends naturalistic realism with impressionistic texture, capturing both the recognizable landscape and the emotional resonance it holds. The central waterfall is softly layered in tones of white, ochre, and subtle blues, echoing the unique mineral deposits that make the real falls so captivating. Surrounding vegetation is expressed with rich greens and earthy hues, applied in expressive strokes that suggest depth and movement.

Intentionally abstract elements are woven throughout unfinished forms, open spaces, and gestural marks that speak to possibility. These undefined areas represent the unseen, the yet to be discovered, and the quiet power of nature to inspire wonder and reflection.

This work invites the viewer into a space of contemplation a sacred moment where nature, memory, and imagination converge. It is a love letter to the Saint Lucian landscape and an ode to the quiet, transformative beauty found within it.
