With Solar Embrace, I wanted to dive completely into the Impressionistic style, focusing on texture and intense color to capture the sheer power of the sunflower. By zooming in, the flower becomes a portrait, a concentrated burst of energy against a vibrant, tumultuous blue sky. I used thick, bold strokes, applying the paint with a palette knife to give the work a three-dimensional, vital quality, making the colors almost jump off the canvas.

For me, this solitary sunflower holds immense meaning as a woman. It’s a powerful symbol of self-focus, inner light, and unyielding optimism. By filling the frame, I wanted to emphasize its unapologetic presence and strength. It’s a reminder to turn toward what nourishes you and to embody your own radiance without reservation.

The dramatic contrast between the brilliant yellow petals and the rich, choppy blue background expresses the complexity of life, the light against the shadows. Yet, the flower remains central, strong, and entirely self-sufficient.
